The Carrollton Texas Montessori School

January 6th, 2010

Q: Who is the founder of the Montessori method of teaching that the Carrollton Texas Montessori school uses?

A: Dr. Maria Montessori, one of the first women physicians in Italy during the early 1900s, observed that children are constantly learning and tend to be endowed with a natural curiosity. She said that the learning babies and children do during the early years is much more important in the scheme of things than any learning they do at the university. This was born out in her own studies and in more modern studies.

Q: Who founded the Montessori method?

A: Montessori is also different than traditional public school in that there is daily one-to-one instruction between the teacher and the student. Prior to initiating an activity, the teacher makes sure that the student knows how to complete the lesson. Montessori schools are peaceful, busy, and accepting places for children to learn.

Q: What makes the Montessori method different than regular daycare or public school?

A: Students at Montessori school have fun. They are self-directed and able to follow their natural curiosity about any subject. This does not mean a hit-and-miss, chaotic education. On the contrary. Montessori classrooms are extremely orderly and peaceful. You will see children of all ages working individually, with another student or with a small group of students as they choose. Before beginning a task, the teacher will instruct the child on a one-to-one basis and will make sure that the child knows exactly how to do the lesson before the teacher gives the child space to work alone. Montessori schools place a high value on interpersonal skills. The staff models and/or guides students through interpersonal issues, turning these often unpleasant parts of life into a learning opportunity.

Q: Are there any Montessori schools in the area of Carrollton, Texas?

A: Montessori classrooms are multi-age. This allows younger students to watch the older students work and gives the older students a lesson in patience and respect for others who are not as advanced in their learning. It also gives the older child a chance to teach younger children, which reinforces the subject matter for the older child and expands the learning of the younger. Montessori classrooms also place a premium on peace and responsible citizenship.

Q: When my child goes from Montessori to public school, how will she do?

A: Most children who have attended Carrollton, Texas Montessori school excel in public school. Children coming out of a Montessori educational system know how to learn, still have their original curiosity intact. They are polite and able to resolve conflicts. Often, they are ahead of their classmates in many academic areas. It will take an adjustment for your child to get used to the public school rules and expectations, but once she does, she will fit right in.

The Beauty Of Carrollton Day Care

January 4th, 2010

If you are staying in Carrollton and seek a good Carrollton day care facility, there can be a number of possible choices you could possibly go forth with. Although the number of possible choices are unlimited, there are very few day care centers that may be able to provide you with what you and your child would be most comfortable with. Therefore finding your child the right day care facility is a rather hectic but utterly important job.

Some parents are just not able to provide their child that it requires in order to grow healthily, both in terms of proper timings of meals as well as the intellectual growth. A parent’s confident in the daycare center is of the utmost importance if a parent need have any peace of mind, otherwise the parent will simply be concerned the whole time their children is in a day care center, which effectively eliminates any advantage the parent may make out of their children’s stay at a day care center. A good day care center will therefore not only be able to take care of a child effectively but also be able to assure the parent that their child is in safe and worthy hands.

There is no denying the love and concern a parent feels towards their child, therefore it is very hard for a parent to actually be away from their child, in such a condition if the parent sends the child to a day care center, the parent is not especially comfortable with, sending the child to the day care sis a moot point, the parent wont get the mental relaxation that the child is being sent to the day care for.

There are a number of things however that a parent would seek in a good day care center in order for their heart to be content that their child is in able and safe hands.

A good day care center, first and foremost should be a welcome sight, both for the children as well as their parents, a place you don’t feel at home is not a place your child will feel at home. It will strictly follow any and all safety measures, children can be very curious, sometimes too much for their own good, in any such place any sharp edged or electrical or high object can be a liability in causing the child any harm.

Confidence, any day care staff that is not confident of success is bound to fail in any task, you would also wish to leave your child on a daycare only once you are confident in the day cares care-taking abilities.

So take care of these basic things in your choice of day care center and your child will be in safe hands.

Montessori School In Carrollton: Finding A Good School For Your Child

January 4th, 2010

Dr. Maria Montessori had a unique insight into the learning needs and requirements of children. Her vision is implemented in the style of teaching that is implemented the Montessori School in Carrollton.

There are quite a few reasons why the teaching here can be very good for your child. Dr. Maria Montessori believed that all children can achieve anything given the right support and environment so your child’s growth is very much encouraged by people who genuinely believe in their ability to achieve and excel.

The school uses different learning frameworks than that you may see in regular schools. This method is known as the Montessori Method’ as is strictly followed by the school in Carrollton.

So what are these tools and do they really enhance the child’s learning and development? Dr. Montessori developed teaching tool that facilitate learning in young children by observing their learning pattern and behavior during the different developmental stages that they go through.

Children learn differently and progress at a different rate from each other. They generally follow the same stages but at their own pace. To help achieve their best, the learning in a Montessori school implements methods that take this into account to give a more individualized learning plan for each child.

Using this knowledge, the classes and studies were designed to help each child develop and learn at their own pace. Learning is individual and the children are helped to be self-disciplined and direct their own learning. In this manner they are able to be in charge and grounded in the knowledge that they acquire.

Teachers, or Guides as they are known in the schools, are there to support the child in his or her learning. Their approach to teaching is more to help the child discover and explore under guidance.

The learning program offered in Montessori schools is individualized for each child to promote their own strengths and interests. This is in complete contrast to other schools where teachers decide on topics to teach to a whole group of children. Here, the children themselves decide what they are interested in and the concepts they want to explore.

The school makes sure that children do learn all the required basics for them to be able to build on such as mathematics and alphabets. The teaching integrates all the rudimentary principles with a more wholesome and complete approach to learning which has over the years shown to be very successful.

CompTIA Training Providers In Detail

December 26th, 2009

There are four specialist areas of training in a full CompTIA A+ program; you’re qualified as an achiever in A+ when you’ve passed the test for just two specialist areas. Because of this, it’s usual for colleges to limit themselves to 2 study areas. The truth is it’s necessary to have the information on each subject as industry will ask for an understanding of all four areas. You don’t have to complete all 4 certifications, but it seems common sense that you at least have a working knowledge of every area.

A+ certification without additional courses will set you up to mend and maintain stand-alone PC’s and MAC’s; ones which are usually not part of a network – which means the home or small business market.

If you would like to be a man or woman who works for a larger company – fixing and supporting networks, build on A+ with Network+, or consider an MCSA or MCSE with Microsoft to give you a wider knowledge of how networks work.

Students will sometimes miss checking on something of absolutely vital importance – how their training provider divides up the physical training materials, and into how many separate packages.

Drop-shipping your training elements piece by piece, according to your own speed is the usual method of releasing your program. Of course, this sounds sensible, but you should consider these factors:

It’s not unusual for trainees to realise that their training company’s standard order of study isn’t ideal for them. You may find that a slightly different order suits them better. And what if you don’t get to the end inside of the expected timescales?

For future safety and flexibility, it’s not unusual for students to make sure that every element of their training is posted to them in one go, with nothing held back. That means it’s down to you how fast or slow and in what order you’d like to take your exams.

We’re often asked why qualifications from colleges and universities are being replaced by more qualifications from the commercial sector?

As demand increases for knowledge about more and more complex technology, the IT sector has been required to move to specific, honed-in training only available through the vendors themselves – in other words companies like Adobe, Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA. Frequently this is at a far reduced cost both money and time wise.

Many degrees, for instance, often get bogged down in too much background study – with a syllabus that’s far too wide. Students are then held back from understanding the specific essentials in enough depth.

Put yourself in the employer’s position – and you wanted someone who could provide a specific set of skills. Which is the most straightforward: Go through a mass of different academic qualifications from hopeful applicants, having to ask what each has covered and which vocational skills they’ve mastered, or pick out specific commercial accreditations that precisely match your needs, and then select who you want to interview from that. You’ll then be able to concentrate on getting a feel for the person at interview – rather than establishing whether they can do a specific task.

A service offered by some training providers is a Job Placement Assistance program. It’s intention is to help you find your first job in the industry. However sometimes there is more emphasis than is necessary on this service, for it is genuinely quite straightforward for any focused and well taught person to get a job in the IT industry – because there’s a great need for qualified personnel.

Having said that, it’s important to have help with your CV and interview techniques though; also we would encourage everyone to get their CV updated the day they start training – don’t procrastinate and leave it for when you’re ready to start work.

A good number of junior support jobs have been offered to students who are still studying and haven’t got any qualifications yet. This will at least get you into the ‘maybe’ pile of CV’s – rather than the ‘No’ pile.

If you’d like to get employment in your home town, then you may well find that a local (but specialised) recruitment consultancy can generally serve you better than the trainer’s recruitment division, due to the fact that they’re far more likely to know the jobs that are going locally.

Many men and women, it seems, are prepared to study their hearts out (for years sometimes), only to give up at the first hurdle when looking for a good job. Promote yourself… Do your best to get yourself known. Don’t think a job’s just going to jump out in front of you.

Traditional teaching in classrooms, utilising reference manuals and books, is often a huge slog for most of us. If you’re nodding as you read this, dig around for more practical courses which feature interactive and multimedia modules.

Studies have time and time again verified that connecting physically with our study, is much more conducive to long-term memory.

Start a study-program in which you’re provided with an array of CD and DVD based materials – you’ll start with videos of instructor demonstrations, with the facility to fine-tune your skills in fully interactive practice sessions.

Every company that you look at should be able to show you a few examples of the materials provided for study. You should hope for instructor-led videos and a wide selection of interactive elements.

Seek out CD and DVD ROM based physical training media wherever available. Thus avoiding all the issues associated with the variability of broadband quality and service.

The Beauty of a Bedside Lamp

December 18th, 2009

Many people have a lamp beside their bed as a result of the fact that they like to read prior to going to sleep. Having a bedside table lamp provides you with the novelty of doing as little as leaning to the side and turning it off as soon as you have finished your reading.

In this case, you ought to get a lamp that is easy to turn on and off and one that you can reach with ease.

In the event that you’ve got a night stand next to your bed then you should get a bedside table lamp. They are on the market in any color, size and shape you could think of and will give a flattering ambient glow to your room.

If you do not have a table beside your bed I’d advise you to seek out a compact floor lamp or a floor lamp that’s bendable meaning you do not have to climb out of your bed to switch it off.

You may easily come across a lamp to match the look and feel of your space very easily. Several outlets sell lamps with corresponding bedroom furniture, and this gives a rather flattering look to the bedroom. You can generally come across them at luxury stores or online.

If you are shopping for a bedside lamp, bear in mind that it only takes nothing short of one lamp to alter the complete look and feel of the bedroom.

If at all possible, try to seek out a lamp retailer that allows you to take a lamp on reserve and test out several varieties in your room before the transaction goes through.

Some stores are willing to do this because they concede that it isn’t so easy to match a lamp to the space when you’re searching through the store.

You’ll get a bedside lamp at very reasonable prices if you devote the time to shopping around. You can find something well within the $50-100 range for a great set of bedside table lamps, and a lower amount for a floor lamp.

Enjoy looking for your bedroom lamp.

LCD Monitors Compared To CRTs And LCD Monitor Repair

December 18th, 2009

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. LCD monitors are about 1″ to 3″ thick. They weigh less than 10 pounds. Much better than the older CRT monitor that weighs 30 to 50 pounds and is several inches thick.

Colored pixels, backlight, a sheet of polarized glass, a layer of liquid crystal solution, and a second polarized sheet of glass are the five layers that the LCD monitor consists of. A picture is created when the crystals act like tiny shutters, opening or closing in response to the stimulus, thereby allowing degrees of light that pass through specific colored pixels to illuminate the screen.

The LCD monitor is brighter than a CRT monitor. It only weighs a few pounds. LCD monitors are much easier on the eyes. They take up 90% less space and use one-third to one-half the electricity of CRTs.

Most LCD monitors range from 15″ to 21″ although larger sizes are available. The 15″ LCD will have an actual 15-inch viewing screen.

Here are some LCD Monitor brand names: acer, hp, compaq, gateway, dell, packard bell, viewsonic, samsung, relisys, envision, benq, eizo, ibm, jetway , lenovo, nec, philips, proview, Iiyama, sharp, sony, lg, westinghouse, norwood, lacie, xerox, asus, aoc.

When your LCD monitor needs repair, what should you do? Repairing your monitor at a service center could easily exceed half the cost of a new monitor. As far as electronic equipment goes, monitors become obsolete at a somewhat slower rate so it makes sense to repair to repair it.

If you do not have the proper instruction, repairing the LCD monitor can be very confusing. The Kindle In Education

December 17th, 2009

When Amazon released the large format Kindle DX e-book reader in June of 2009, it caused quite a stir in the academic world. The original Kindle, launched in November 2007, and the upgraded Kindle 2, which debuted in February 2009, had both attracted some interest – but nothing approaching the commotion which surrounded the DX.

Perhaps that’s unsurprising. After all, the large display of the DX was specifically designed to appeal to readers of newspapers, magazines and academic textbooks. Amazon entered into partnership agreements with a number of colleges and universities – and also gained a lot of publicity from various political bodies who waxed lyrical about the potential educational benefits to be gained by using e-books and e-book readers.

Cash strapped educational authorities quickly realised that electronic text books not only offered them financial savings but would also make it much easier to keep textbooks current and up to date. At the moment there is an average gap of seven years between textbook revisions. The ease of updating electronic books promises a big improvement.

The readers have a relatively high initial purchase price, which could be a factor which affects their introduction. However, in the eight months since its launch, the price of the Kindle 2 fell by $100 – so maybe it’s not unreasonable to assume that the price of the devices will come down to a level which makes them an attractive option.

Business analysts seem to be in general agreement that a price of $ 150 is the magic number required to allow e-book readers to be adopted into the mainstream consumer market. Considering the high level of competition in the e-book reader market – Apple, Sony, Microsoft, Asus, Samsung, Plastic Logic and Barnes and Noble are just a selection of Amazon’s competitors who have their own e-book readers in development – it doesn’t seem out of the question that this price point could be achieved, possibly even in 2010. Take a little more off for a bulk discount to education authorities and e-book readers in education look feasible.

There are however, some further obstacles to overcome. Blind students for example, have complained that the Kindle puts them at a disadvantage. Although a text-to-speech option, which you might imagine would be helpful, is included in the Kindle, it requires a lot of navigation through text menus to arrive at it. At the moment, Amazon are developing audio menus which may go some way to addressing such concerns.

There may also be some doubts about the durability of these readers for use by students. Cracking screens were a complaint for some Kindles, although this may well have been due to the use of non-proprietary covers rather than a fault with the reader itself. However, a few knocks and bumps would seem to be highly probable throughout the academic year. Possibly a ruggedized version would be a good idea.

Having got off to a good start, the Kindle’s educational experience has hit a few problems. However, none of these seem to be insurmountable – especially considering the level of drive and innovation displayed by Amazon to date. There does seem to be a growing air of inevitability regarding the adoption of electronic textbooks. It looks like the Kindle may be about to embark upon a highly successful academic career.

Database Courses UK – Thoughts

December 16th, 2009

Should you be looking for Microsoft certified training, you’ll obviously be expecting training companies to offer a wide range of some of the top training programs to be had.

You might also want to be given advice on the types of jobs that are available once you have passed your exams, and the type of individual those jobs could suit. Many people like to get advice on what the best route is for them.

Make sure your training program is tailored to your ability level and skills. The best companies will always guarantee that the training is designed for the career you want to get into.

Some training providers have a handy Job Placement Assistance service, to help you into your first commercial role. The honest truth is that it isn’t a complex operation to find the right work – assuming you’re well trained and qualified; the shortage of IT personnel in Britain looks after that.

Update your CV at the beginning of your training though – look to your training company for advice on how to do this. Don’t procrastinate and leave it until you’ve graduated or passed any exams.

It’s possible that you won’t have even passed your first exam when you will get your initial junior support position; yet this isn’t going to happen unless your CV is with employers.

The most reliable organisations to get you a new position are generally local IT focused employment agencies. As they will get paid by the employer when they’ve placed you, they have more incentive to get on with it.

A good number of students, it would appear, invest a great deal of time on their training course (for years sometimes), and then just stop instead of looking for the right position. Promote yourself… Do everything you can to get yourself known. Don’t expect a job to just fall into your lap.

Some training companies will only offer basic 9am till 6pm support (maybe a little earlier or later on certain days); very few go late in the evening or at weekends.

Don’t buy study programmes that only provide support to you via a call-centre messaging service when it’s outside of usual working hours. Colleges will defend this with all kinds of excuses. The bottom line is – you want support at the appropriate time – not as-and-when it’s suitable for their staff.

The best training colleges tend to use an online access round-the-clock facility utilising a variety of support centres throughout multiple time-zones. You’re offered a single, easy-to-use environment that seamlessly selects the best facility available any time of the day or night: Support when it’s needed.

Look for a training provider that is worth purchasing from. As only live 24×7 round-the-clock support gives you the confidence to make it.

With all the options available, does it really shock us that a large majority of newcomers to the industry balk at what job they should even pursue.

Perusing lists of IT career possibilities is next to useless. Surely, most of us don’t even know what the neighbours do for a living – let alone understand the complexities of a specific IT job.

Usually, the way to come at this issue appropriately flows from an in-depth conversation around several areas:

* Your hobbies and interests – these can highlight what things you’ll get the most enjoyment out of.

* Are you hoping to re-train for a certain raison d’etre – for example, is it your goal to work based from home (being your own boss?)?

* The income requirements that are important to you?

* Always think in-depth about the time expected to gain all the necessary accreditation.

* Having a proper look into the effort, commitment and time that you can put aside.

For most people, considering these areas requires a good chat with an advisor who has direct industry experience. And not just the certifications – but the commercial requirements of the market as well.

Beware of putting too much emphasis, as a lot of students can, on the training process. Your training isn’t about getting a plaque on your wall; this is about gaining commercial employment. Begin and continue with the end in mind.

Don’t let yourself become one of the unfortunate masses who choose a training program that seems ‘fun’ or ‘interesting’ – and end up with a certification for a job they hate.

Never let your focus stray from where you want to get to, and formulate your training based on that – avoid getting them back-to-front. Keep your eyes on your goals and begin studying for a career that will keep you happy for many years.

All students are advised to chat with an industry professional before deciding on their training path. This gives some measure of assurance that it contains the commercially required skills for that career path.
