It’s Easy to Increase Traffic to Your Blog

December 30th, 2009

Blogs are a great way to promote your service or product. Blogs are simple to install, easy to administer and simple to update. Search engines love them because they are generally a great source of original content. However, without traffic, a blog cannot reach its full potential. Provided here are 5 simple and easy ways to improve traffic to your blog and start making money.

1. Submit to blog search engines There are multitudes of search engines available that list only blogs. Just Google for “blog search engines” and you should find 20 or more. These blog search engines will help you with targeted traffic. Be sure to write a good title and a good description to your blog, so that people will easily find it and click on your link.

#2. Update your content often. To effectively leverage the benefits of search engines and blog services, you must update your content regularly. If you post frequently, you will definitely get targeted traffic from search engines. A good rule of thumb is to update your blog at least daily. However, be careful not to update to often, more than 10 times daily, as this my harm your search engine position and hits.

#3. Post in Forums, don’t SPAM them. Put a link to your blog in your signature. Be sure to make your posts original and interesting. Don’t just post in every forum on the INTERNET; be selective and post in forums consistent with the content of your blog. For example, if you’re selling purses, post in forums that are about fashion and clothes. Don’t post in car forums if you’re selling toys. Posting in forums creates one-way links that will help to improve your search engine position in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing.

Step 4: Develop a list of blog services to ping. There are many blogs services that you can ping. Pinging means that you notify the service that you have updated your blog. In turn, you gain traffic through the updated listing in these services. There are a list of 50+ blog services that you can ping on my site. This should be more than enough to provide an initial jump in traffic to your blog.

5.Add buttons to popular news readers What does this mean? Well there are sites like yahoo, Google or bloglines etc., which have a members area where you can select sites with RSS feeds to fetch the latest updates from different blogs. That way you can have the latest updates from let’s say 50 blogs listed on one page.

By following these simple steps, you will definitely increase the traffic to your blog. Traffic is the first step to getting the sales that you seek. The main guideline is that you update your blog with fresh original content that you have written yourself. Who knows, if you do it right, you might be able to quit your day job eventually.

All You Need To Know About Blogging

September 17th, 2009

A successful blog can help you pay the bills. You will not have to work for someone else anymore. Blogging can become your new business. All you need is internet connection and a lot of passion.

At beginning your blog will not bring you too much money. There for it’s safer to not give up your daily job too quick. In time you will learn more about blogging and you will make a living from it.

Before you stat writing you must pick a subject for your blog. Don’t ignore this step because it’s one of the most important. If you use a popular niche more people will visit your blog and you will make more money. This is where real work starts. You will probably have to spend a few hours researching.

There are several ways to make money from blogging. The most known is by subscribing to Google Ad Sense. This allows advertisers to pay you for an ad on your blog. This is another reason for choosing a good niche. Try to find out how much are advertisers willing to pay for a certain ad. The content of your blog must be relevant.

Your content must be informative. Try to spell check everything you write. The readers will not appreciate any grammatical or spelling errors. Write short phrases to be easier to read.

A professional blogger will answer to all the comments. This is why it’s important to have internet access and check your blog daily. Readers will be challenged to get back and read more. By doing this you will make more money.

Key words are essential if you want to have a lot of visitors. No matter how good and how informative you wrote you will not have much traffic if you will not use key words. Take a few hours to learn more about this. You can also sell a product through your blog. In this case the key words must describe exactly the product. Imagine what would be the words anybody would use to search for that specific product.

You can also choose to be a paid per post blogger. You will be paid a fix amount of money for each post you will write. There are a lot of websites looking for your content. This job is very similar with article writing. You can write about several things. Before subscribing to a website for a writer position try to find out first what will be the topics you would have to write about. If you feel comfortable with it you can start working.

The next step for a successful blog is promotion. You can use social media marketing websites. People can become members for free and you can advertise your blog there. You also have the option to pay for promotion. This is very important for your blog. It’s the only way to make a living from blogging.

You Can Choose Whether to be an Expert or Reporter

September 7th, 2009

There are basically two types of bloggers in the world – reporters and experts – and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it’s hard for reporters to become experts, but it’s easy for experts to report). Becoming an expert is crucial to make money blogging.

If you have ever taken an affiliate marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies. Whenever the business model is based on content, and if you blog for money then the model is based on content, people are shown to either start as reporters, or if possible step up as experts.

I’ll be frank, you need to identify yourself as the expert.

Reporters leverage the content of the experts and in most instances people begin off as reporters because they haven’t established expertise. Experts enjoy the perks of preeminence, increased income because of perceived value, it’s easier to get publicity, people are more likely to find you rather than you having to seek others out, joint ventures come easier, etc. experts in most cases simply have higher incomes and attract more publicity.

Most Bloggers Just Report

The thing with expertise is that it needs – training. No person becomes an expert without doing things and learning. Bloggers usually begin without expertise and as a result begin their blogging journey by talking about everything going on in their niche (reporting) and by reporting on and talking about other experts (reporting again).

There’s nothing wrong with reporting of course and for many bloggers it’s a necessity in the beginning until you build some expertise. Unfortunately the ratios are skewed when it pertains to reporters and experts – there are a lot more reporters than experts, hence reporters tend to struggle to gain publicity and when they do, they often just help the reputation of the expert they are reporting about.

Don’t Replicate Your Teacher

If you have ever spent some time researching products about the Blogging for Dollars niche you will perceive a pattern. Many people first study affiliate marketing from a expert (for lack of a better term). The mentor teaches how he or she is able to make money online, and very often the view that the student gleams is that in order to mmake money blogging you have to teach others how to make money online.

The end result of this process is a huge army of amateur writers attempting to duplicate what their mentor does in the same industry – the affiliate marketing niche – not realizing that without expert status based on proven record and all the benefits that come with it, it’s next to an uphill battle to succeed.

Even people, who enjoy marginal success, say for example growing an contact list of 1,000 people, then go out and release a product about how to build an email list of 1,000 people. Now I have no issues with that, I think it’s fine to teach aspiring bloggers and leverage whatever achievements you have, the difficulty is that people gravitate to the same industry – Internet marketing – and rarely differentiate themselves.

How many experts out there do you know of that all say they teach the same things – email marketing, SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing, and all the related niches that fall under the category of affiliate marketing. It’s a competitive industry, yet when you listen to your friends and other gurus making money teaching others how to make money online (and let’s face it – making money as a subject is one of the most compelling) – your natural inclination is to follow in their footsteps.

If the key is to identify yourself as a mentor and you haven’t spent the last 5-10 years making money, I suggest you look for another niche to establish expertise in.

Have patience and stay with what you do to increase your knowledge and then translate that knowledge into training for others, and remember, it’s okay to be a big fish in a small pond, that’s all most experts really are.

Competition for making money online is steep. Set yourself apart by learning to increase your personal brand and explode your authority ranking in twitter. Grab a totally unique version of this article from the Uber Article Directory
