It’s Easy to Increase Traffic to Your Blog

December 30th, 2009

Blogs are a great way to promote your service or product. Blogs are simple to install, easy to administer and simple to update. Search engines love them because they are generally a great source of original content. However, without traffic, a blog cannot reach its full potential. Provided here are 5 simple and easy ways to improve traffic to your blog and start making money.

1. Submit to blog search engines There are multitudes of search engines available that list only blogs. Just Google for “blog search engines” and you should find 20 or more. These blog search engines will help you with targeted traffic. Be sure to write a good title and a good description to your blog, so that people will easily find it and click on your link.

#2. Update your content often. To effectively leverage the benefits of search engines and blog services, you must update your content regularly. If you post frequently, you will definitely get targeted traffic from search engines. A good rule of thumb is to update your blog at least daily. However, be careful not to update to often, more than 10 times daily, as this my harm your search engine position and hits.

#3. Post in Forums, don’t SPAM them. Put a link to your blog in your signature. Be sure to make your posts original and interesting. Don’t just post in every forum on the INTERNET; be selective and post in forums consistent with the content of your blog. For example, if you’re selling purses, post in forums that are about fashion and clothes. Don’t post in car forums if you’re selling toys. Posting in forums creates one-way links that will help to improve your search engine position in search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing.

Step 4: Develop a list of blog services to ping. There are many blogs services that you can ping. Pinging means that you notify the service that you have updated your blog. In turn, you gain traffic through the updated listing in these services. There are a list of 50+ blog services that you can ping on my site. This should be more than enough to provide an initial jump in traffic to your blog.

5.Add buttons to popular news readers What does this mean? Well there are sites like yahoo, Google or bloglines etc., which have a members area where you can select sites with RSS feeds to fetch the latest updates from different blogs. That way you can have the latest updates from let’s say 50 blogs listed on one page.

By following these simple steps, you will definitely increase the traffic to your blog. Traffic is the first step to getting the sales that you seek. The main guideline is that you update your blog with fresh original content that you have written yourself. Who knows, if you do it right, you might be able to quit your day job eventually.

Names Of The Latest Cisco Router Emulation Software Packages

December 21st, 2009

Computer networking students are caught in between a rock and a hard place when going through difficult course studies. Students need access to hardware available in class to do labs and reports, and may not have the same hardware at home to work on. Emulation programs have sought to fix this problem.

An expensive yet thorough solution is with Boson’s software packaged named Netsim. Netsim ranges in value, from $200 to $500, depending on the licensing and options needed. Netsim is the best bet for instructors, as it comes loaded with plenty of extras such as activities and grading programs. Perhaps less affordable for students, who are usually on a tight budget.

Open source programs should receive the attention of students since they are free to download and use. Dynagen is one such program, of which is built with the Dynamips simulator. Dynagen is one of two software packages that currently works with Dynamips, and is often described as being the less friendly of the two. Documentation is also lacking for those with questions.

GNS-3 is another program based on the Dynamips emulator. GNS-3 is more popular among beginners since it has a better interface and better support. GNS-3, or Graphical Network Simulator, has a developer’s forum and video tutorials to get students ready to use the program. It may not have key features that Netsim has, but teachers can still issue this free program to students and have take-home assignments for them to complete.

Self-learners are a breed of students that don’t need classes to obtain their certifications. Although they may be saving money on course costs, they won’t be able to use the best network simulator to date: Packet Tracer. This program is produced by Cisco, who took the time to make the interface amazingly simple to use for such a powerful program. Packet Tracer isn’t available for download to the public, yet if you are alumni or a current student you can access the download area.

There are several web-based programs used with Macromedia Flash and text-based applications that one can look at. These range from free to pricey, just as standalone programs do. Web-based applications can be just as useful, but keep in mind you’ll have to have a constant connection to the Internet to use most of them. Often times it’s just better to get a desktop application for ease of use.

Network simulation is advanced technology. Thus, there aren’t too many choices to dwell on while you are looking for a study aid. Check those mentioned and perhaps do some searching of your own to see if updates or new programs are on the horizon.

Outsourcing Technology Needs To Offshore Firms And Companies

December 19th, 2009

A business will outsource part of its operations to another business in order to save time or money- or perhaps both. In the case of IT outsourcing, a business lets their technology be handled by another business entirely- freeing them of hardware and employment costs.

When a business outsources their IT department, they are also outsourcing the need for a security team. Without security, and presence the company has on the Internet could be in danger from defacing or intrusion. When another company signs on to meet your needs, they are also verifying they are competent in defending the network that they intend on managing.

Senior-level technology agents can cost as high as $100,000. That’s about as much as a medium-sized business makes in a year, so it isn’t cost effective to hire several of these experts to run your own network. The same level of qualifications can be obtained through outsourcing, yet the cost of outsourcing is but a fraction of the cost it would take to hire even one person.

Any large website has a data backup system in place. Even with the best security systems in place, you can bet that the data can still become corrupt or fail once hardware does. It isn’t a matter if it will happen, but a question of when. Data backup is costly to buy and maintain, so most businesses like to outsource it. Periodic backups will save an utter loss of data when disaster does strike, and should not be avoided.

Having an employee on hand is nice, since you get instant support. You will have an almost limitless access to help when you need, save for hours in which your business doesn’t operate. Companies that take on the responsibilities of your IT department are able to operate at all hours of the day and night, and also allow for unlimited support via email and phone. In a sense, outsourcing is the better opportunity due to the

Consider pricing when you look for an IT outsourcing company. You should look for a solution that is moderately priced. If you price yourself too low, you will get an inexperienced team and fewer options. If you pay too much, you might run your budget up and be less able to divert capital to other more important departments. Consult at least three companies before making a decision on who to outsource to.

An outsourced IT department has a lot to gain for the business going through the transition. However, outsourcing may not be right for you and your business. To find out, it’s best to go through a trial or a test month with a third party service to judge its worth for your budget.

Easy Methods for Article Marketers

December 16th, 2009

Article marketing is a great way to promote your online business. You can establish yourself as an expert on your topic and use that to build a captive audience. However, it’s not always easy to come up with excellent content. But if you follow a few simple guidelines, it’s not really that difficult. Below are some basic tips for writing great articles.

Doing the proper research on your topic is key. There are many people competing for readership on the web. Readers are on the lookout for someone who will give them what they need. It is important to research your topic carefully and make sure it is something lots of people would be interested in. Do this, and you’ll get visitors to click through and read your articles.

It is important to target to right keywords before starting your article. There are many people writing on particular keywords, while there are keywords that only a few are interested in. Choosing less competitive keywords is a good idea when starting out with your article writing. In that case, you stand the chance of getting listed in the top 10 during searches. This enables more people to find your articles and actually read them.

Pick a particular niche to write about and focus on it. This will allow you become an expert on the topic. Do this correctly and people will start searching for your name as well. They will want to know what you have to say first before they look for others. By specializing in a niche, it is much easier to establish this type of credibility.

That said, writing good content is the most important thing. Don’t leave the reader disappointed after they have read your article. Your content should be compelling and the reader should be learning something from it. Make sure to proofread your writing, so there are no errors that distract the reader from your content. A poorly written article is just a waste of time for you and the reader.

After you have completed writing your article, you can promote it in several ways. One option is to use an article submitter like Magic Article Submitter to send your article to hundreds of article directories. This is a very effective way to distribute your articles and get your article read by a lot more people.

September 10th, 2009

Introduction to Blogging The best way to learn to blog is to get involved with blogs that interest you. It can be a passion of yours or it can be a writer that you enjoy reading.
